The 5 best office fragrances

Perfume at work – yes or no? You can argue about whether or not you should wear perfume to the office. For some, it’s an important component of their personal style and a way to feel comfortable and appear more confident. Others see perfume as more of a nuisance and worry that it may confuse colleagues. Well-chosen perfumes can give the impression of professionalism and style, but it is important to make the right choice. A fragrance that is too intense or intrusive can attract unwanted attention or even scare away colleagues. As a general rule, it is important to be sensitive to the sensitivities of others so as not to disrupt a pleasant working atmosphere. Subtle, casual fragrances are best suited here. What makes a good office fragrance? ◼ Citrus notes: Fragrances of lemon, grapefruit or orange have an invigorating effect and help to increase concentration and improve attention. They also refresh the mind and can thus positively influence the daily work routine. ◼ Mint: Refreshing mint flavors of peppermint or menthol clear the mind and are known to increase alertness and fight signs of fatigue. ◼ Lavender: Lavender has calming properties, helps relieve stress and additionally alleviates headaches. However, its fragrance should be used with caution, as some people find it too intense. ◼ Eucalyptus: Eucalyptus has a refreshing effect and provides easier breathing. Also fatigue and sluggishness can be reduced by eucalyptus, which can be beneficial in the workplace. ◼ Rose: Rose petals have a pleasant floral scent and create a relaxing and soothing atmosphere. They have a particularly positive effect on mood and receptivity. These are the scents you should wear to the office: 1. Nothing but Sea and Sky – Une Nuit Nomade This airy and woody fragrance is ideal to start the day at work. Light aquatics combined with fresh citrus notes make the fragrance mild and pleasantly metallic. Nothing but Sea and Sky takes you mentally to the sun and creates a summer atmosphere in the room. 2. Bohemia 265 – Maison Noir Bohemia 265 by Maison Noir combines bergamot with cardamom and thyme aromas and is wonderfully suitable for business occasions due to its fresh base. This fragrance is for all free spirits and offers enough room for interpretation and creativity – even in the workplace! 3. Bergamundi – Farmacia SS. Annunziata Another fragrance that works well in the office is Bergamundi by Farmacia SS. Annunziata. It combines lemon, bergamot, lime and tangerine to exude pure vibrancy in any room. An invigorating fragrance reminiscent of Mediterranean landscapes, it provides a sophisticated freshness that is super comfortable to wear. 4. lethe – Ulrich Lang New York This light perfume from Ulrich Lang New York contains notes of lavender, bergamot and pleasant florals that create a creamy scent with a subtle freshness. lethe goes perfectly with any business look, making it part of your shortlist if you’re looking for a delicate office fragrance. 5. Eating Wherever – Emil Élise Eating Wherever is a true good mood fragrance with a blend of fruit and floral aromas that look incredibly alive and young. The fragrance base of ripe fruits makes us feel healthy and lively at any time of the day. The perfume is playful but not intrusive, which makes it perfect for the office and suitable for everyday wear. How fragrances affect you and your counterpart

Scents that drive us crazy There is a real science behind the attraction of fragrances! Even if the opinion of our counterpart regarding our choice of fragrance may be secondary, it is still interesting to know what exactly attracts in a perfume. Which fragrances are particularly attractive to the other person depends especially on personal taste, but there are a few tips that help in the selection. Perfume is not without reason considered an aphrodisiac and can serve as a means of flirting or rekindling old passions. Today we’ll tell you about seductive and attractive fragrances that will leave a lasting impression on your counterpart. This way, you can not only shine on dates, but find your scent that makes you irresistible. For example, an attractive fragrance specifically contains fresh and aquatic scents, as they smell clean and very well-groomed – which is definitely attractive. Wearing a perfume with a spicy accord is also a very good choice for the next date, as spices are known for their aphrodisiac effect. Wood – a noble material that we encounter every day – has an equally appealing effect. Woody fragrances seduce with their pleasant, warm and invigorating scent. Vanilla is also super suitable in an attract scent because its smell reminds us of many treats that can be tempting. Some fruity as well as sweet fragrance accents bring energy and fire into a fragrance composition and also attract attention. Our recommendations with particularly high dynamics: Note Vanillée – Maison Micallef Patchouli Figue – Panouge Paris Spiritual – Maison Micallef Dancing Light – Olfactive Studio Perfumes with positive effects on well-being Snuggled up in the blanket, a warm tea, your new favorite songs and a scent that relaxes – time out in the form of me-time is always a good idea! While spending time for yourself, the best thing you can do is consciously go into yourself, calm down and reflect. For the perfect feel-good atmosphere, a perfume that is particularly relaxing or with which you associate positive, pleasant memories can help. Scientific studies prove the calming and thus stress-reducing effect of fragrances. Smelling certain fragrances triggers emotions and reactions in the body that can positively influence well-being. When choosing, go for scents like vanilla and floral, which have been shown to help people feel relaxed. They are scents for coming down, restoring inner balance and creating a sense of lightness and clarity in the mind. Perfumes that make you feel better! Perfumes with lavender are definitely one of them here. The floral, somewhat soapy scent is known for its calming and sleep-inducing effects and is wonderful for relaxing. Jasmine is also known for stress-reducing properties. Its intense, sweet and floral scent helps relieve fatigue and tension. Fragrances of rose are also said to reduce anxiety and stress and help with relaxation. Perfume horoscope: This fragrance suits your zodiac sign

Choose the right niche fragrance for your zodiac sign Each of us has unique tastes and preferences when it comes to which fragrances best suit our personal style. Believe it or not, your personal zodiac sign can help you find the right fragrance. Perfume is much more than an accessory – it’s a symbol of our personality and mood. But how well does the perfume you use every day match your zodiac sign? Each of them has their own characteristics and preferences, which should be taken into account when choosing the perfect fragrance. If you’re looking for a perfume to match your zodiac sign, you should first think about what qualities you’d like to emphasize. Do you want to smell particularly sensual, or are you looking for more of a fragrance that highlights your personality? Here are some tips for choosing the perfect fragrance for your zodiac sign. The 12 signs of the zodiac and their perfect scents 1. Aries: Strength & Adventurousness Aries people are passionate and energetic. They look for a fragrance that underlines their sensuality and helps them stand out from the crowd. Aries-born people go through life confident and dynamic and know exactly what they want. They are attracted to citrusy, woody-warm perfumes that underline their joie de vivre. With fragrance notes of cashmere wood, bergamot and vetiver, Bohemia 265 by Maison Noir is the ideal companion for the Aries and unifies their powerful personality. 2. Taurus: Sensuality & Elegance How does the Taurus’ calm and balanced nature manifest itself in its choice of the perfect fragrance? In order to bring out the grounded and kind character of this sign, natural, lasting fragrances are a good choice. The Taurus loves florals as well as tart notes of precious woods, and is as enthusiastic about aromas of mimosa as he is about spicy mosses. Blooming Summer by Aemium is the perfect Taurus fragrance because it captures exactly this energy through white floral accords and cedar wood. In addition, Aemium fragrances are vegan and animal-free – in other words, completely natural, just the way the bull likes it. 3. Gemini: Freshness, Energy & Creativity Which fragrance best appeals to the versatile interests of the Gemini? This star sign is particularly inquisitive, communicative, easy-going, and flexible. Gemini love change and are consistent optimists: rejections don’t throw them off track so quickly. They are aware of how much life has to offer and enjoy the abundance of new opportunities. Sparkling aromas such as bergamot or fresh apples suit their nature. For contrast, cedarwood and amber ground the excited zodiac sign. Romeo on the Rocks by Philly and Phill is with bergamot, fruits and cedarwood thus the perfect choice for the Gemini. 4. Cancer: Romance, Gentleness & Warmth What makes a soft, playful Cancer fragrance so special? Cancer is absolutely romantic, mysterious and generally considered very sensitive. Since he has a sensitive and easily vulnerable soul, he needs passionate, lovely and beguiling fragrances. Citrus, rose, jasmine, and patchouli are some of the fragrances that are a real treat for Cancer. Accordingly, he will surely be happy with 1992 Purple Night by Les Bains Guerbois. With mandarin, patchouli, and jasmine, the fragrance contains everything the Cancer heart desires. 5. Leo: Drama, Sovereignty & Opulence The combination of strength and grace is what the royal lion is also looking for in his favorite perfume! The lion has an oodles of lust for life, self-confidence, vitality and pride. Warm and oriental spices, intense flowers, citrus fruits and aromatic herbs are consequently his secret favorites. If you’re a born lion, you’ll love Chypre Shot by Olfactive Studio – a dark, exotic fragrance with notes of saffron, cardamom, coffee and black pepper. 6. Virgo: Clarity, Pragmatism & Discipline Virgos are very productive and have good analytical skills. They are mostly controlled by their clever mind and sense of order. Accordingly, clear and minimalistic fragrances with aquatic or fresh notes suit the structured and orderly character of Virgo. Perfumes with a molecular touch could also suit Virgos very well. Here, Paper by Commodity is very suitable – a light fragrance with a clean, linear scent character that does not distract the structured mind of Virgos. 7. Libra: Harmony, Balance & Beauty Libra-born people love harmony and have a strong sense of justice and empathy. They place great importance on living in harmony with their surroundings. Just as warm and sensual as their relationships are the Libra’s fragrances, which are often dominated by vetiver, pink pepper and amber. Aromas of cedar and sandalwood also have a stabilizing effect on the zodiac sign. These help her to make the right decisions. Finally, if you want to have vetiver, sandalwood and pink pepper combined in one fragrance, it is best to reach for Golden Prince by Orlov Paris. The ideal fragrance for all those who do justice to the scales. 8. Scorpio: Passion, Intensity & Desire Absolute self-control and passion is what makes a real Scorpio. He is considered to be hungry for life and interested in everything strange and unusual. Scorpios are strong, emotional, combative and known to assert themselves and seduce with their charm. Their inexhaustible energy is best captured in opulent fragrances with vanilla, musk or balsamic notes. Accordingly, a suitable companion would be 106 by Bon Parfumeur, which can stand up to Scorpio with strong vanilla and precious Peru balsam. 9. Sagittarius: Freedom, adventurousness & optimism The zodiac sign Sagittarius is literally bursting with ideas and loves to travel around and above all to be free. Therefore, his choice of perfume is usually woody or green. With notes of moss, woods and vetiver, Sagittarius gets the necessary energy he needs for his next adventure. The perfect fragrance for him is thus Dancing on Goosebumps by Emil Élise, which already has adventure in its name. With this fragrance, Sagittarius will certainly find a reason to dance, even if he does not dance on «Goosebumps». 10. Capricorn: Consistency, Respect & Tradition Reliability and discipline – these are probably the two greatest principles of a Capricorn. He is characterized by his ambition and the pursuit of success, which makes him an honest and well-organized spirit. Earthy perfumes that match their character traits are most suitable for Capricorns. It is important for them to always appear serious, which is why a natural fragrance character fits very well, so as not to slay anyone. Woody notes of sandalwood or cypress do well – gladly sometimes in combination with gentle, spicy accords. So a Capricorn should go for nightscape by Ulrich Lang New York – a light fragrance with cedar wood, green notes and a nice spiciness from the tropical tonka bean. 11. Aquarius: Independence, Originality & Imagination Aquarius is considered pragmatic, independent and subject to the constant urge for freedom. They are hardworking people who have a lot of creativity and unique intuition. This requires unobtrusive fragrances that are refreshing and airy. At the same time, it must be something special that not everyone has. For example, fresh fruits, berries, aquatic notes or aromatic flowers suit Aquarius – so that it remains unexciting but still unique. All this is fulfilled by the eponymous fragrance of the brand Orlov Paris. Orlov contains creamy orange blossom, as well as raspberry and black currant, which give the fragrance originality and pick up the style of Aquarius. 12. Pisces: Mysticism & Emotional Balance Pisces are known for their empathy and dreamy inner world. They are mysterious, emotional and love to feel safe and secure. The zodiac sign is considered to be delicate and rather gentle in nature. So should be the fragrance that accompanies a Pisces-born. Fresh perfumes with notes of violet, water lily or herbs suit his dreamy character. The fragrance should radiate security and be as natural as possible. The best fit at this point is Ege by Nishane – a very aquatic fragrance with very special accents such as basil, mint and anise. Why perfume is the best Valentine’s Day gift

What does perfume have to do with love? Scents and emotions are closely linked. Because the sense of smell interacts with our limbic system in the brain, which is responsible for emotional processing, certain scents can directly affect our emotions and memories. An example of this is certain aromas associated with Christmas. When we smell cinnamon, orange, and pine needles, we are reminded of the Christmas season and the feelings of joy and warmth associated with it. Certain scents in perfumes can also trigger a mental stirring in us. A floral scent, for example, can provide relaxation and romance, while a fresh scent conveys energy and freshness. In general, smells play an important role, especially in a partnership, as they are closely linked to the attraction and emotional connection between two people. Romantic fragrances for an unforgettable Valentine’s Day Even if you love someone with all your heart, it is not always so easy to express your feelings with a suitable Valentine’s Day gift. Giving perfume is a wonderful way to show your love and create memories together. It’s a gift that lasts and brings joy again and again. A fragrance gift is especially sentimental when it reflects the person’s individual taste and personality. It’s a way to show that you’ve put some thought into it and know the person well. That is why perfume samples are the better choice Because we know how difficult it can be to choose the right fragrance for someone else, we recommend samples as a gift. The big advantage: you can try several fragrances directly and compare them. The person receiving the gift can thus first get to know the fragrances – especially because niche fragrances can be very unique. Before the person then gets a large bottle, the fragrances can be tested in peace and get to know. A positive side effect for you is that you do not take a risk and do not directly spend several 100 € for just one fragrance. By the way, samples are the most practical choice for on the road or traveling and allow you to always have your favorite fragrance with you. They are small and light, which is a huge advantage compared to bulky bottles. PAFORY monthly samples differ from regular fragrance samples because there is actually a lot more in them. With 8 ml, the perfume lasts for at least a month and also looks chic in our case. So you give away flexible fragrance experiences that are comparatively inexpensive and offer a wide range of luxury fragrances. Valentine’s Day is ultimately meant to remind each of us to always give love and focus on the beautiful things in life. Check out our gift ideas blog post for more info on custom fragrance gifts. Popular perfumes & our alternatives

Perfumes that smell like… Today, we will introduce you to fragrances that are very similar to prominent fragrance creations. However, this is not about presenting cheap dupes or fragrance twins. We show you luxurious fragrances that smell similar to well-known perfumes, but are super special and unique in comparison! This way, you can get your bearings on which scents you might like and get alternatives that not everyone has for sure. On our YouTube channel, by the way, there are already videos specifically on the topic of designer fragrances and alternatives. If you need more choice, you can take a look there. Candy – Prada Anyone who has smelled Candy knows that the perfume really smells like Candy. Delox by Tiziana Terenzi is also a real sugar explosion, but unlike Candy, a light floral note is added here. The hypnotic power of white hyacinth is lost here together with royal iris. The fragrance is embraced by sweet myrrh and roasted coffee, while noble amber and cypress notes form the base. A fragrance of unadulterated lightheartedness and at the same time powerful, intoxicating notes. Alien – Mugler This fragrance is probably one of the most loved and worn fragrances ever. Surely you know at least one person who loves or has worn Alien by Mugler. Our alternative to this perfume is Glamour by Maison Micallef, a floral-sweet fragrance with tangy fruit accents. Both perfumes are dominated by woods and jasmine notes, which makes the two really similar. Glamour differs minimally from Alien because of the spices it contains, as you can additionally smell out amber accents in the latter. Nevertheless, Glamour is almost a perfect blind buy if you like Alien. The One For Her – Dolce & Gabanna The One For Her is a floral fragrance, but it goes in the sweet and fruity direction. Our alternative to The One For Her is Safanad by Parfums de Marly. A very elegant and feminine perfume with lovely and fruity notes, but also delicate orange blossom, iris and soft ylang ylang. Both fragrances are super glamorous and fall into the same niche due to their floral-sweet composition. So if you like the Dolce & Gabanna fragrance, you should definitely give Safanad a try. Fame – Paco Rabanne Paco Rabanne has created Fame, a fresh mango fragrance with a good dose of fruit sweetness. If you like Fame, you might like Sunplosion by Simone Andreoli – the fragrance that embodies the Hawaiian sun. Just like Fame, this perfume focuses on fresh fruits. Because Sunplosion is a bit more restrained and doesn’t refer to mango specifically, there are of course small differences in the scent. Still, both are really similar to each other and ideal if you’re into summer fruit scents. Coco Mademoiselle – Chanel An equally big favorite in the designer fragrance world is Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel. For decades, the fragrance has been worn up and down, which eventually becomes appropriately boring. Instead of this perfume, you could try Summer 69 by Gas Bijoux. The fragrances are similar in their sweet-floral scent base, with a fresh lemon note standing out in Gas Bijoux. Overall, both are nevertheless of the same fragrance type and are very reminiscent of each other. Initio – Emotions and Alchemy

Initio wants the imagination to take on a life of its own when you perceive their fragrance creations. So it’s less about remembering, but more about letting yourself be carried away mentally. What should not go unmentioned is that the perfumes of Initio can be combined with each other. This is not only something for old masters of perfume wearing, but also something for daredevils. You simply can’t get enough of Initio! The Latin word Initio means both: «The beginning», origin, a return to the essence of perfume, in its original magical and religious function. But also: «I initiate». An initiation to experience perfumes as objects of power. Absolute Aphrodisiac Some say it’s cotton candy, others think pastry. However, this voluptuous sweetness is not heavy or oppressive, but teasing and especially powdery. What’s nice about it is that Initio understands how to make vanilla smell authentic. In other words, it is just how we imagine vanilla as pure seduction and not flatly synthetic. Despite its presence, the scent is not intrusive or unpleasantly room-filling. Once you’ve let the vanilla lure you in, the scent lets you see through what it’s really after. It likes it animalic and captivates you with leather notes. In addition, the attractant castoreum mixes – an aphrodisiac that awakens desires in you. High Frequency Fragrant jasmine, magnolia flowers, delicious almonds and seductive hendoins – High Frequency is definitely a special fragrance! It starts slowly with a sweet blend of almond, magnolia and jasmine, which is then slowly joined by a seductive explosion of musk and hendoins. These hendoins act very attractive to the human nose, which is why you can turn some heads with this fragrance. Oud for Greatness Mystical, sacred, even almost magical: highly concentrated and with the finest natural oud oil, Oud for Greatness is a particularly prestigious perfume with an expressive signature. Blended with notes of lavender and saffron, the fragrance offers an exceptionally intense experience and seduces with its uniqueness. Oud – for happiness, harmony and healing, strengthens the mental and spiritual condition by creating balance, promoting inner peace and personal growth. Grasse – fragrance history and perfume art

Over 30 years ago, the capital of fragrances inspired author Patrick Süßkind to write a literary masterpiece about a cruel murderer who was only interested in one thing – the perfect scent. We at PAFORY don’t really have anything else in mind either, but are much more affable in our search for it. The town around which the fascinating events in the novel revolve is a small town away from Canne. We are talking about Grasse. Grasse as a fragrance capital Anyone who has ever been near a tannery knows how unpleasant and biting the fumes of this work sting the nose. In the Middle Ages, today’s fragrance capital was best known for its excellent leather – but also notorious for the stench. To make the products more attractive to customers, i.e. less smelly, Galimard, a tanner, used the treasures of Provence. He dipped his gloves in baths of lavender, orange blossom, mimosa and all sorts of other fragrant plants. Today, master perfumers are successfully trained in the city. They are called „Nez“ (nose) and after 7 years they are able to recognize around 6000 fragrances. Although the raw materials, which in the 17th century were mainly grown directly around Grasse, are now also imported to the perfumers, but about 30 perfume factories in the city prove that Grasse will dethrone no one so quickly, not even Paris. Grasse is worth a visit in any case. The city is teeming with perfumeries that blend into the maze of old and new buildings like little paradises. In the city, of course, there is the Musée internationale de la Parfümerie, where you can explore everything Grasse has to offer in terms of fragrance history and perfume art. But interesting facts can also be found elsewhere. Almost every factory offers tourist tours, but that’s not all. Those who finally want to call their own distinctive and indeed unique perfume can create one there with expert assistance. Perhaps so one or the other discovers that on him a „Nez“ has been lost. Blend Oud – a journey to the Orient

Blend Oud is a tribute to the ancient Arabian tradition of blending: the art of combining precious oils in search of the perfect fragrance. Both the name and the identity of the brand represent the knowledge of this ancient art, which dates back thousands of years. The brand is inspired by the traditional gestures of Arab master perfumers who mixed the most extraordinary raw materials with precision and patience, bringing to life a fascinating olfactory culture. Khoul With Khoul from Blend Oud, the hearts of female oud lovers beat faster. Khoul is floral, fruity and spicy at the same time. Clearly perceptible is the fruity peach note which gives this oud fragrance a playful, sweet nuance. The oud in combination with the vanilla provides a pleasant warmth. Lemon, bergamot and green notes provide a sparkling prelude which gives this oud fragrance a surprising lightness. Oud Zanzibar Fruity-fresh at the start, this oud fragrance by Blend Oud surprises its wearer with scents of melon and lemon. Initially much more restrained, the floral notes of jasmine and magnolia come more and more to the fore until finally the fragrance develops into a warm, earthy, sweet composition of sandalwood and patchouli. Just like the patchouli note, the oud very subtly accompanies the development of the fragrance without being intrusive or even resinous. The fragrance really manages to transport the atmosphere and the attitude to life of a tropical island. Tupai Love A fragrance that already carries the passion and sensuality of a paradisiacal island in its name. A floral powdery lightness of jasmine, iris and rose follows a deep composition of vanilla, tonka bean, cedar and patchouli. The fragrance evokes a powerful and pristine place, surrounded by the sea of passion. The sun is slowly setting, decorating the horizon with purple and pink tones. When the last ray disappears, scents of flowers are in the air. An intense and sensual floral moment that never seems to fade. When you close your eyes, you feel what only imagination can capture in a fragrance: the warmth of the sea and the delicacy of the sand on your skin. Santal Pondicherry Santal Pondicherry by Blend Oud is almost a spiritual fragrance, which captures the atmosphere and smells of a sacred house or consecrated place. This illusion is created by the interplay of incense, myrrh and precious woods. Nevertheless, the fragrance does not seem old-fashioned at all, but rather glamorous and noble. This is ensured by vanilla, amber and spices such as cardamom, which give the fragrance a warm depth. The most beautiful floral fragrances for spring

Let it bloom The pleasant warmth of the spring sun seductively settles on our cheeks. It is the season that awakens new life and revives our mood, but also our senses. Today we recommend you 4 very special perfumes that will accompany you with freshness and naturalness and beautify the wonderful season. Fragrances for spirited, deep breathing and a bit of sun on your skin. Floral fragrances are quite in demand in spring, whereas heavier perfumes tend to soften. After all, we’re not only looking forward to blooming meadows now, but we like to smell a little fresher and lighter after the particularly strong winter scents. Floral notes are considered balancing and create a certain lightness. They can be delicate, elegant, but also playful and sweet. And yet, floral fragrances are so different from each other – depending entirely on which composition they appear in. Here are our recommendations for a fragrant spring. Laboratorio Olfattivo – MyLO Surrounded by fruity, floral and soft notes, MyLO impresses with a warm and sensual base that directly strikes and charms. A particularly long-lasting fragrance inspired mainly by the white lily. The sparkling and fruity notes of citrus and spicy pepper berries combine perfectly with the floral heart of white lily, iris, jasmine and rose. This fragrance accord finally leads to the velvety base of benzoin resin, vanilla, amber and musk, which rounds off the fragrance harmoniously and softly. Nishane – Hundred Silent Ways This fragrance is stimulating, inspiring and very pleasant to wear due to its floral-sweet base. It begins with fruity notes of tangerine and peach, which is joined by tuberose. The heart is a bouquet of jasmine, gardenia and iris. The combination of strong vanilla, sandalwood and vetiver ultimately give the perfume a very sensual and unique foundation, which is appropriately reinforced and emphasized by the floral notes contained. Ella K – Mémoire de Daisen In In memory of Daisen In – the most famous example of kare-san-sui, traditional Japanese rock gardens. The combination of peony, amber and nutmeg provides moments of contemplation and aesthetics. Maple wood, green notes, Rosa Alba as well as bergamot have been finely balanced to create a fragrance that will not soon be forgotten. The mineral character of gravel is underlined by ambrox and benzoin, while the gentle rose bushes fill the air with their feminine scents. Acqua Alpes – 2677 2677 begins the refreshing journey with lily of the valley and jasmine. Arriving at the purifying pine, we experience a woody fragrance that takes us not into the forest, but over the mountains. In Acqua Alpes 2677, salty notes of seaweed combine with accents of bergamot, anise and peach. In the heart of the perfume, aromas of lavender, rose and geranium unfold. Our Love – Orlov Paris

We have exciting fragrance news for you – there are once again new luxury fragrance brands to sniff at PAFORY. One of them is Orlov Paris, an absolutely unique and luxurious brand that we are 100% convinced of and proud to finally introduce to you. This post is all about Orlov and their splendor perfumes, which are now available with us. Thomas Méaulle und Ruth Sery de Solokou It all started in 2009, when Thomas Méaulle met a young woman with a very special name at a trendy and chic party in Paris: Ruth Sery de Solokou. A woman with style and class whom he absolutely had to approach. For Thomas, he says, she was the mysterious «black panther» because of her «feline» beauty. Apart from her, Méaulle was passionate about precious stones and perfume, and at the time was working in finance. Ruth was already considered a diamond expert at the time; she had just graduated from HRD Antwerp. HRD Antwerp is still working today to develop an innovative new diamond database for faster jewelry appraisals. The lost diamond In any case, Ruth was at least as fascinated by the world of fragrances as Thomas, and had recently moved to Paris. On the evening of the party, Thomas felt attracted to her – especially because of the fragrance she was wearing – so he ended up asking her about it. This developed into an hour-long conversation about the passion for gemstones and perfume that they both share. Ruth then decided to show Thomas her world: the stones she works with and the jewelry she designs. The joint creation of Orlov came about when Thomas finds a lost diamond under a perfume box, which for him was the main trigger for the brand idea. Flame of Gold Smoky, sweet and spicy: a dazzling vitality as a creation of the «golden flame». An oriental fragrance which interprets a luxurious and sensual combination of dark chocolate, tonka bean and leather. Inspired by an award-winning 29-carat yellow diamond, the perfume conjures warm, red-gold rays cast by its myriad facets. Orlov The main nuance of this gemstone perfume lies in a fascinating interplay of the precious flowers of roses and jasmine amid delicious red fruits. The fragrance is considered a strengthening talisman and charisma booster, which is complemented by creamy-sweet orange blossoms and carried by a touch of musk. De Young Red The most magnificent red diamond in the whole world – this is probably De Young Red by Orlov. Stunning red conjures maximum vitality – as well as the unique feel-good formula of citrus, rose and jasmine. In addition, amber, sandalwood and musk are included, which give the fragrance a certain energy. Sea of Light An aromatic creamy perfume, almost like a flash of light on the skin, which is the perfect contrast between warm and cold. Sea of Light fuses the metallic freshness of citrus with the power of seductive spices and draws inspiration from the diamond of the same name – the «Sea of Light», one of the world’s most brilliant diamonds with an astonishing 182 carats. Golden Prince Golden Prince alludes to the popular drink of New York’s Golden Boys and, accordingly, evokes the aroma of a freshly made gin and tonic with a bubbly combination of grapefruit, pink pepper and juniper berry. Fresh, spicy, woody: the «golden prince» – named after a fabulous brown diamond exhibited at the Paris World’s Fair and the American Museum of Natural History. Urban Scents – dreams and values

100% European, transparent and timeless Before we take on a new brand, it is super important to us that we are also really absolutely convinced of the fragrances, but also of the brand itself. After all, we want them to fit us and our concept, and also appeal to us personally. Anyway, our newcomers from Urban Scents have managed to do just that! 5 fragrances of the brand have finally made it into our store – which are and what makes the brand, I would like to tell you now! „We have created our perfume collection in line with our values“ Urban Scents is characterized by transparency as well as the fascination of the two founders – Marie Urban Le Febvre and Alexander Urban. The two share a love of perfume and a passion for flying. All fragrance compositions interpret people as well as spaces and objects. In addition, each fragrance is individual and consists of 30 to 60 carefully selected ingredients, which are mixed with the perfume oils of the small and independent perfume manufactory Accords & Parfums. The fragrances themselves are created in Berlin and the perfume oils are then mixed in Grasse, France. Desert Rose Desert Rose refers to the beautiful rose – arguably the most romantic of all flowers. The perfume smells aromatic-spicy and inspired by a bouquet of fresh Moroccan roses. In the fragrance combines a velvety warmth with the sensual floral freshness and mineral dimensions. A true classic, enlivened by edgy accents of cardamom and ginger. Ber Cavok Ber Cavok is a fresh ozone perfume with a unique inspiration that combines two completely different worlds: Perfume and flying. Spring sky combines the unique fragrance notes of lime blossom with those of musk and nutmeg. The fragrance interprets the crystal blue, ozone-radiant Berlin sky, which is carried by the facets of calone and other mineral notes. Gunpowder Cologne Gunpowder Cologne – an invigorating fresh fragrance with a special modern twist. This perfume combines the aroma of green tea with Italian bergamot essence and lavender, followed by light woody notes and a velvety musk accent. Definitely a fragrance that is addictive! Dark Vanilla A warm and deeply powdery creation around vanilla introduces, among other things, the diversity of rooibos. This very complex, luxurious fragrance meets gentle associations of hay, red tea and honeycomb in Dark Vanilla. The perfume reveals the dark, balsamic and sensual facets of the vanilla bean and is completed with spicy notes of pepper, heliotrope and tonka bean. Singular Oud A perfume that is not without reason as an olfactory bridge between morning and evening: Singular Oud. An interplay of the warmth of oriental fragrances and the refreshment of green fig – ideal for those who are looking for a fragrance with that certain something! A fragrance where precious oud meets notes of rose and saffron and is rounded off by a touch of incense. The fragrance pyramid: How perfume is structured

Each perfume bears the unmistakable signature of its perfumer, who develops it in delicate fine work and coordinates the many different fragrance notes with empathy and tact. In the process, each fragrance presents its diverse aromas, which correspond to its individual fragrance pyramid. The fragrance pyramid describes three scent phases that reveal themselves one after the other during the unfolding of the fragrance: Head, Heart and Base. Only the interplay of all olfactory components and the interaction of the selected nuances give a perfume its fascinating and unique character. The structure of perfume is always the same – its effect, on the other hand, is always a unique experience. This applies equally to women’s, men’s and unisex fragrances. The structure of perfume in detail Discovering a perfume and getting to know and love it in all its facets requires a lot of time, because the first impression made when applying the perfume to the skin does not even begin to reflect the full effect of the fragrance. The structure of perfume can be understood like a musical masterpiece. First comes the intro, the introduction, which gives an impression of what might come. Then comes the transition to the actual work, which embodies the melody and mood. Only at the end does the climax of the composition come to full fruition, giving the listener heart palpitations and goosebump moments. It is the same with the fragrance pyramid in noble perfumes. Here, the top note forms a spiky, invigorating prelude that leads into the heart note after only a short time. Here, the fragrance body is refined, built up and led towards its climax. In the base note, the perfume reveals its final direction and its unique, profound character – only at this point does a perfume tell its very own story. Fragrance concentration To develop a luxurious perfume, various high-quality perfume oils and fragrance essences are combined into a work of art, in addition to the basic ingredients of alcohol and distilled water. The fragrance concentration provides information about how high the proportion of fragrances is in the product. An eau de cologne is the lightest fragrance representative, containing 2-5% of fragrances. Eau de toilettes have between 5 and 9%, are very volatile and move quickly through the fragrance pyramid. An eau de parfum, on the other hand, carries a concentration of 8-14% of perfume oil, which is why it is more productive and economical to apply. Also, here the pyramid is experienced much more intense and the shelf life is happy to 8 hours. The fragrances presented at PAFORY are partly even Extrait de Parfums, which come to a concentration of up to 30%. Such compositions are a pleasure and should be applied with caution. The proportion of perfume oils can consist of over 250 different components. In order to harmonize the exquisite elements in such a way that they create a harmonious, soulful, dynamic, romantic or powerful image, not only a good nose is necessary, but also years of experience. It is the perfect harmony of the individual fragrance phases that characterizes a perfume. The fragrance pyramid provides information about the results that make a luxurious fragrance what it is. The top note – the entrance into the fragrance experience After applying a fragrance, a first impression unfolds immediately. This opens the door to the actual fragrance experience in style. Light, invigorating and lacy fragrances are usually used for this prelude. The charisma of this fragrance phase remains only up to a maximum of 15 minutes and effective, then the fragrance molecules evaporate and it is seamlessly transitioned into the heart. Top notes are mostly citrus, green, aquatic and energetic perfume notes. Bergamot, orange, lemon, tangerine, grapefruit, fresh green and also fruits like pineapple, peach or mango, subtle spices, herbs, tea and also floral nuances like lavender or orange blossom are good examples of fragrance elements that form the prelude of a perfume. This paves the way for the beguiling fragrance composition. A women’s fragrance with a particularly fruity prelude is, for example, Hundred Silent Ways by Nishane. The heart note – this is where the body of the fragrance is formed Once the first impression has settled after a few minutes, the heart of a perfume comes to the surface. This note remains active between two and three hours (in the case of very intense perfumes also between five and six hours) and stimulates the senses with more intense, longer-lasting nuances. In the fragrance pyramid, the heart note determines the character of the perfume, its direction and intensity. Here are reflected mainly floral, fruity, herbaceous, but also synthetic fragrance elements. Blossoms of jasmine, lily of the valley, ylang-ylang, freesia, orchid, tuberose or even gardenia, rose nuances of May or peony, powdery sounds of violet, iris or mimosa are found in the heart as well as spicy scents of cinnamon, ginger, cardamom or a pinch of pepper. The men’s fragrance Laudano Nero by Tiziana Terenzi convinces with its woody-spicy orientation and a heart that continues into the base. The base note – it rounds off the sophisticated fragrance concept The base note forms the broad and solid foundation of the fragrance pyramid. This phase of fragrance lasts up to 24 hours. The base gives a perfume its depth and warmth – an echo that symbolizes the signature of a fragrance. This is where fragrance notes come into their own, fixing molecules to both the skin and clothing (they are therefore also called fixators). In the base, woody, resinous, smoky, oriental and gourmand sounds unfold their aromas. Musk, amber, patchouli, vetiver, tonka beans, oakmoss, but also incense, cedar, sandalwood and oud components fire the imagination and stimulate the senses and have a sensual, romantic and seductive effect. But also caramel, vanilla, almond, chocolate, coffee, honey and cocoa can round off a fragrance base appetizingly. Animal, exotic or even sweet – the composition of the base wraps its wearer in a fascinating aura for many hours, gladly also with a portion of playfulness or provocation. A good example of a very warm, deep fragrance with a powerful base is Note Vanillée by Maison Micallef. This luxury perfume impresses with its long-lasting, intense foundation. Parfums de Marly – french perfume craft

The Marly Story The splendor of the lifestyle of the Château de Marly revives: a place of festivities and pleasure in the 18th century. Parfums de Marly is considered a refined perfumery that respects French expertise and creates contrasting fragrances through the perfumers’ intuition – atmospheric and harmonious. Parfums de Marly has been one of our first brands and is still among the most popular. Each creation has a unique recognition value and a fragrance signature all its own. They symbolize special experiences with a fascinating combination of classic and modern. All are bold compositions from a palette of noble contents that dare to go against the grain. True signature fragrances, then, that are very distinctive and express a contemporary lifestyle. The brand was founded in 2009 by Julien Sprecher, who discovered his love for perfume through his father. He was born near the castle of Marly and the gardens of Versailles and has been very positively influenced by its history, with which he grew up. The brand interprets the 18th century and its peak of French elegance: the reign of perfume. A very luxurious period that is reflected in the fragrances, as well as in the bottles and the brand identity itself. The royal pleasure palace In the royal gardens of Versailles at that time there were over ninety thousand flowers and plants. They all served the «perfumed court» of the absolutist king, where even the fountains carried perfumed water. Furthermore, the so-called pleasure palace of Marly was famous for the king’s horse breeding. The Tunisian king gave him eight Arabians, which had roots of magnificent European horses. They were the model for the famous sculptures on the Champs Elysee. Overall, Parfum de Marly revives in the bottles what was celebrated during this particular era. The elegance, the excess of beauty, the numerous celebrations and the exclusivity of the breeding horses that Louis the 15th loved so much. In the end, some creations were even named after the horses. Layton Sweet, spicy and sensual. The tangy mandarin unites in Layton with noble woods and strong spices, which are enlivened by a touch of jasmine. Parfums de Marly combines here vanilla and light herbs, which carry the addictive character and radiate a warm and at the same time fresh aura. Delina This powdery floral fragrance consists of the energetic rose, warm vanilla and bergamot. In addition, there is the vibrancy of fresh, exotic fruits, which gives Delina a certain youthfulness. The combination of lychee and rhubarb interprets a flowery sweetness, which perfectly combines with the white flowers contained. Pegasus Exclusif Pegasus Exclusif is a fine harmony of bergamot, pink pepper, cardamom and heliotrope. It also develops a very masculine woody strength, accented by an elegant vanilla note. In addition, there are fragrance notes of lavender and bitter almond, which act like a heightened force and give a very unique temperament. Oriana This perfume is airy-sweet and reminiscent of a summer fruity elixir. It embodies pleasure and lightness in a tangy, gourmand structure that is highlighted by bergamot, berries and orange. The twist in Oriana is definitely the sugary marshmallow accent, but it blends very pleasantly with the purity of the fruit. Gravel – New York 1957

Distinctive and charismatic The creator of the luxurious Gravel New York brand – Michael B. Knudsen – began to pursue his dream of creating his own perfume in the 1950s. At that time, he started his first own collection – although no one had any idea of the success that would await him in the history of perfume. Indeed, to this day, it is said that the entire fragrance industry in America has benefited from Knudsen, his pioneering spirit and visionary genius. He eventually dedicated his entire life to the development of the brand, putting all of his charisma, connections and energy at Gravel’s service. All bottles are filled by hand and contain gravel from the Hudson River. The idea came to Knudsen after a walk along this river with the desire to stand out from the conventional perfume bottles. Since the first bottle was sold in 1957 in New York on 46th Street, Michael B. Knudsen remains unforgotten through each of his fragrances. Knudsen’s extraordinary life Gravel fragrances are the essence of an eventful and long life. They are always inspired by Knudsen’s exciting life journey, which began in Scandinavia in 1911. Life first took him across the wide ocean to America (Across the Ocean), where as a young, handsome man he succumbed to the promise of the American Dream. This period was considered the golden era of Hollywood and Knudsen also fell for the charms of the film industry. He was part of several film productions and thus got to know the world of show business. Probably that’s where his extravagant lifestyle and penchant for beauty came from. Through these experiences, he wanted to transport a piece of all this into the new era of America – with a perfume that captured all his experiences, convictions and promises. Thus was born his very first fragrance: A Man’s Cologne – which is actually considered to be the first men’s perfume in the U.S., since until then it was mainly aftershaves that were common. A Man’s Cologne Balsamic, citrus and spicy: a distinctive high-quality fragrance that comes alive with hints of orange and tonka bean. A very sensual perfume that has a warm yet fresh orientation. A Man’s Cologne – the first men’s perfume in the US and the first creation of Gravel perfumer Michael Knudsen. 46th Street This modern fragrance is woody-balsamic and characterized by beguiling as well as intense notes that interpret a true seduction through incense, amber and musk. The included forest berries and flowers of jasmine create a pleasant, young freshness, underlined by birch and precious woods. Across the Ocean Across the Ocean has fresh, light floral accents with impressive woody-spicy undertones. Rose, guaiac wood and musk take us on a journey on the luxurious overseas steamers that once sailed between the Old World, Europe and the USA. A fragrance that combines classic fragrances in a very unique way and thereby reinterprets them. American Dream This perfume is dedicated to the famous and alluring American Dream, bringing a summery and at the same time elegant, sensual mood. Woody nuances give the fragrance a gentle structure, which is fused by jasmine, lavender and basil to create an interesting, luxurious composition. American Dream is reminiscent of a late summer stroll along the Hamptons beaches – just outside New York. Hudson River NY This eau de parfum smells initially citrus-floral and unfolds its full aromas after a short time of wearing on the skin. A woody, spicy note develops, which is delicately rounded off by a gentle vanilla note. Hudson River by Gravel New York interprets the special concept of the brand par excellence – named after the river where Michael Knudsen got the idea for Gravel. How to find your perfect scent

Not that easy to find the right perfume Testing different fragrances in a perfumery within a few minutes is almost impossible, since all facets of a perfume can never be captured due to the many scent impressions. Those who test fragrances here can only determine the first prelude. Already with testing a second perfume, the scent molecules are mixed and distort the respective message of the perfumes. If you order on the Internet, it makes sense to read in beforehand so that you get an impression of the fragrance and can rule out and favor scents based on scent notes or customer reviews. For this purpose, we have written detailed descriptions of each of our perfumes, explaining fragrance notes, intensity and special features, which can be filtered out during the search. By the way, depending on the season, fragrances are often lighter or heavier. In summer, many prefer rather light or fresh-floral fragrances. In contrast, some like to wear heavy, spicy scents in the winter. It’s helpful to know which scents you generally like to narrow down your search. Testing perfumes takes a lot of time In order to actively experience each fragrance phase, it is best to test a new fragrance over the course of an entire day, as it takes time to fully develop. This works best in a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. After all, a first-class wine is not drunk within seconds and then evaluated. A good perfume wants to be enjoyed. It wants to develop in peace and quiet and slowly rise to its peak form. Be sure to try perfume on your skin. Fragrances falsify on test strips, as they develop differently depending on skin type – after all, everyone has their own body chemistry. Warm areas of the body such as the neck or wrists are best suited for application. A little tip: Apply a neutral oil or cream to the areas you are perfuming. On this basis, perfumes are even more stable and change more slowly between the different notes. In addition to the body temperature, the fragrance pyramid, i.e. the top, heart and base notes, also has an influence on the development of the perfume. These build on each other and only together form the complete fragrance experience. But how can it be determined whether the fragrance even meets personal desires and expectations? Buying a luxury perfume is comparable to buying a piece of fine jewelry. Everything must fit, the fragrance must convince – after all, the senses want to be intoxicated. The solution: an exclusive fragrance sample PAFORY offers perfume samples of over 500 noble and high-quality perfumes of renowned luxury niche brands. This way, the perfume can be applied at home at leisure and their unfolding can be witnessed. Hour by hour it becomes clear whether the fragrance suits one’s own personality and achieves the effect that is desired. Only in this way is it possible not just to find a fragrance good, but to fall in love with it. You get exceptional fragrances that are not often available in stores, because they stand out for their quality and special origin. Many of them come from noble perfume houses or exclusive family manufactories, where the passion for perfume comes first. As a member, you will receive 8ml of your luxury perfume each month in convenient vials. This will last you at least a month with around 120 sprays. In order not to lose the overview, there is our fragrance calendar, which you can set up individually and personally. This way, you simply choose a new fragrance for each month and plan everything in advance. The fragrances themselves you wear as a statement in our stylish case, which quickly finds a permanent place in your pocket and additionally protects your case. Last but not least, we source all fragrances only from authorized retailers or directly from the brands – a principle we take very seriously. Shipping is free worldwide and you can cancel or pause your membership at any time. Find your new favorite scent with the Perfume Finder With our Perfume Finder, you can make a preliminary selection to narrow down the perfumes that come into question. Lovely and seductive or rather powerful and confident? The Perfume Finder helps determine the perfect fragrance for every day, that special occasion or for the next date. Personal preferences narrow down the palette – taking the agony of choice away. The differentiated suggestions refer exclusively to the specified attributes that the perfume should have. Each detailed fragrance description shows which focal points the respective perfume has to offer. The right storage To ultimately enjoy your luxury perfume for a long time, you should definitely store it in a cool, dark and dry place. If you don’t want to hide your fragrances in the closet, you should choose a shelf where the sun doesn’t shine directly on it. To keep sunlight out as best as possible, the outer packaging of the perfume or our case is suitable. You should also avoid temperature fluctuations, because most fragrances do not tolerate these differences and their intensity decreases in the long run. The ideal room for storage is the bedroom. Many put their perfume in the bathroom for practical reasons. But here it is warm, humid, and temperatures fluctuate – in other words, everything that can harm perfume. In the bedroom, even in winter, there is usually little heating, so the temperatures hardly change. Sunlight is also less in this room, because people often keep it rather dark. Popular perfumes & our alternatives

Today we present you some fragrances that are very similar to prominent fragrance creations. However, this is not about presenting cheap dupes or fragrance twins! We show you luxurious fragrances that smell similar to well-known perfumes, but are super special and unique in comparison! So you can orient yourself, which fragrances you might like and get alternatives that definitely not everyone has! Parfums, die riechen wie… Chanel – N°5 N°5 is a classic floral powdery fragrance. If you like that kind of thing, you definitely have to try the perfume By Night White by Profumi Del Forte. This fragrance is also very classic and smells floral and powdery. The heart is characterized by floral, southern seduction. Orange blossom, jasmine, violet, Turkish rose and orchid form an opulent floral bouquet. The base could not be softer – soft tonka bean, benzoin resin, heliotrope, vanilla and sandalwood. Dolce & Gabanna – The One For Her The One For Her is also a floral fragrance, but it goes in the sweet and fruity scent direction. Our alternative to The One For Her is Safanad by Parfums de Marly. A very elegant and feminine fragrance. At first, the fragrance shows its lovely and fruity side, but a short time later, the sweet notes unite with delicate orange blossom, proud iris and softly scented ylang-ylang. Finally, the fine vanilla mixes in. Prada – Candy Anyone who has smelled Candy knows that the perfume really smells like Candy. Delox by Tiziana Terenzi is also a real sugar explosion, but unlike Candy, a pleasantly light floral note is added here. The hypnotic power of white hyacinth fades together with regal iris. The scent is embraced by sweet myrrh and roasted coffee. Noble amber and cypress notes as well as mild honey nuances form the base. This combination is rounded off by a noble accent of Lebanese cedar wood. A fragrance of unclouded lightheartedness and at the same time powerful, intoxicating notes. Alien – Thierry Mugler The perfume Alien by Thierry Mugler goes in the oriental and sweet fragrance direction. Especially the interplay of amber, woody and sweet notes make the perfume a very sensual fragrance. Iconic Amber Oud by Welton is also very seductive. A remarkable incarnation of the Orient of days gone by with a touch of modernity – simply magical! The perfume is downright addictive. A delightful combination of black musk, amber and sandalwood in interplay with sweet honey notes. The most beautiful vanilla scents

Perfumes with vanilla have a very special effect: they have an aphrodisirant effect, make you happy and want more. They awaken our fondest childhood memories, for example, of baking at Christmas time. You know, when you nibbled the dough straight from the bowl, because it was already so delicious even raw. Vanilla scents do not make you fat! Instead of snacking on cookie dough, you can simply spray the sweet scent of vanilla on your skin. But vanilla scents also do well in summer. They take us to the most beautiful beaches in the world and remind us of delicious cream cocktails with vanilla syrup and honeydew melon. As a gentle companion, vanilla lends a certain charm to the most diverse fragrance compositions. People often use its aroma in the base note to keep the sweet, delicious scent going for hours. I can’t deny it: Fragrances with vanilla fascinate me again and again and have never disappointed me! My following favorites could hardly be more different – there you see how diverse and combinable this ingredient in perfume is. Vanille Patchouli – Molinard Vanilla Patchouli is an exquisite paradox of provocation and delicacy. These two fragrances merge irresistibly into a spectacular, magnetic attraction. Spicy vanilla kisses dark confident patchouli just before midnight in the deepest forest. Warm, woody and balsamic. Like a magic wand, this boldness of Molinard fascinates us: caramel vanilla sweetness, cuddly and comforting. A cozy warming feel-good fragrance with a special touch. 402 – Bon Parfumeur A gourmand fragrance with a unique vanilla note. 402 opens with soft white flowers and almond notes. The heliotrope offers a milky and sugary facet. The bottom note is slightly spicy and warmed by notes of sandalwood and benzoin. A delicious dessert. A caressing, velvety vanilla. Almond blossom and heliotrope combine to enrich this bourbon vanilla with its powdery facets. A shift to woody and musky facets is in the air. Soft and milky sandalwood gives this fragrance warmth, velvety and sweet with a stunning toffee note. Note Vanillée – Maison Micallef This eau de parfum presents itself in an irresistible, contemporary version and combines bourbon vanilla with woody as well as amber chords softened by citrus. This devilishly sensual perfume beguiles the senses with bourbon vanilla in its full glory! Note Vanillee breaks with any notion of reason and wisdom, drawing the richness of its amber-gourmand combination from the audacity of opulence. Eau de Parfum evokes the sun that gently warms our skin. Dark Vanilla – Urban Scents Dark Vanilla of the Urban Scents brand focuses on the seductive and deeply sensual base of vanilla and its well-known sweet and lovely notes. Combined with the balsamic, woody note of rooibos and soft accents of red tea and honey, Dark Vanilla is a unique fragrance creation. Especially because rooibos has hardly ever been used in classic fine perfumery. The fragrance is completed by a light spiciness of pink pepper and the powdery notes of heliotrope and tonka bean. What are molecular fragrances and what makes them special?

The art of minimalist fragrances Molecular fragrances consist either exclusively of synthetic molecular structures or of a combination of synthetic and natural fragrances. They often contain Iso E super, ambroxan or cashmeran, which are synthetically produced in the laboratory. In the bottle itself, they are odorless – only on the skin do their individual effects unfold in relation to one’s own body odor. Molecular perfumes take the art of perfumers to a new level, focusing on minimalism and the character of the wearer. What is special about the fragrances is that they emphasize one’s own body odor and have a clean, clear scent character. In addition, they have a pheromonal (arousing) effect, which is particularly attractive to the other person. On the skin, they often last longer than normal fragrances. Well-known brands for molecular fragrances are, for example, Escentric Molecules from Berlin and Aether Parfums from Paris, both of which are available at PAFORY. This article is about Aether – what makes the brand and which fragrances we recommend. The Supraem Collection from Aether French brand Aether Parfums was founded in Paris in 2016 and since then has been synonymous with conceptual fragrances made from the finest synthetic molecules. A real insider’s tip for modern molecule perfumes, some of which have been created in collaboration with famous perfumers such as Nicolas Chabot, Amelie Bourgeois, Anne-Sophie Behaghel, Rodrigo Flores-Roux and Beverley Bayne, for example. Released in 2018, Aether’s Supraem collection consists of woody unisex fragrances – including Hypaer, Supaer, Ultrae and Xtraem. They range from a sun-dried, intense woody character as in Ultrae to a subtle and floral woody note as in Xtraem. Even though it is not easy to put the fragrance character of molecular fragrances into words, and it is best to experience it for yourself on your skin, we dare to try. Ultrae The basis of Ultrae are powerful aldehydic molecules. These give the molecular fragrance the intense character of dry heat – almost like hot iron or stones in a sauna. The fragrance has a glowing effect and also has synthetic notes that pleasantly combine with its fresh, metallic essence. Hypaer A light and fresh fragrance that contains precious cashmere – obtained from the synthetic fragrance Cashmeran. This gives the perfume a very soft, fresh and sensual note – underlined by a warm musk portion and light, pure woods. Xtraem Light, floral notes meet subtle chords of musk and wood in Xtraem. A fragrance that combines opposites in itself, and therefore shines so seductively. The contained fruits also give the whole a freshness kick, which harmonizes very well with the purity of the molecules. Supaer Strong, woody notes of the fragrance molecule Akigalawood meet refreshing, clean nuances and blend together. The result: a mysterious and attractive fragrance that is simply unique with hints of amber and a metallic, sensual emphasis. Ancient Egypt and fragrance traditions

If you go in search of traces, you will find that perfume originates from religious rituals. By slowly burning herbs or woods, fragrant smoke was created. Now some of you may think directly of a visit to a cathedral and it your noses already plays around the incense. But the Christians were not the first to use incense to fog their sacred spaces. The first mentions of fragrance are found in ancient Egypt. In the times of the pyramids, resins, flowers and anything that produced a pleasant scent were burned in honor of the deities. This tradition spread through the trade routes to the Romans. Of course, the precious substances were reserved for the gods, but there was one who discovered the pleasure of it for themselves early – Cleopatra. Many myths are entwined around Cleopatra. One legend says she was beautiful, perhaps the most beautiful woman the earth has ever seen. Then again it is speculated that it was not her appearance that brought her opponents to their knees, but her incomparable love skills. But you’ve certainly heard all this before. Certainly also about the fact that she bathed her body in gallons of precious milk. But milk alone did not put her in the top ten of divine seductresses. It was also the precious perfumed ointments she used to groom herself. And that was the birth of perfume as a cosmetic product… well… maybe not exclusively. But the idea that this impressive woman contributed her part to the perfume culture is a very nice one. For some time now, scholars have been trying to revive the scent of Cleopatra. Due to multiple mentions in various traditions, it is now believed to be Afarsenom. It seems that Israeli researchers have actually succeeded, but there can be no talk of a revival, because the result was apparently very disappointing. Is the once legendary scent simply no longer attractive to today’s noses, or should researchers reassure themselves that they just don’t have trained noses and leave the field to the professionals? Perhaps we will learn more about this someday. I remain curious and hope you do too.
